Few days ago, it was reported that an online site known as BLQ Football scammed people of over 50 billion Uganda shillings. This may sound strange to you if you are hearing about BLQ for the very first time.
What is BLQ Football Uganda?
For beginners, BLQ Football Uganda claims to be an investment company where members make money by putting their money and it grows, another way of earning is also by recruiting others. This sounds familiar with several other schemes in the country which have operated before and ended up scamming people such as the Ponzi scheme and AIM Global, among others.
Uganda is one of the country that is gradually growing digitally, it seems like people still lack a lot about earning money online and it is very easy for them to fall for any sort of scam and scheme.
Is BLQ Football registered in Uganda?
On October 12th, 2022 attention was brought to public notice by the National Gaming and Lotteries Board (LGRB) after they issued a notice warning Ugandans to refrain from dealing with BLQ Football Uganda.
“BLQ has been conducting betting activities illegally without a license from the Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board for the said activities”, – Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board
Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board added that upon investigation, the Board has established that Acclaim BLQ Sports SMC Ltd t/a BLQ Football Uganda is operating illegal online gaming activities without a license.
“BLQ is using the gaming industry as a strategy to market its membership. It claims to be an investment company where members make money by recruiting people to join the BLQ Football Club platform”.
According to reports, BLQ Football first operated in some parts of Europe and fled after stealing lots of money from unsuspecting victims.
It then migrated to South Africa doing the same thing and after being smoked out came to Uganda and started trading as BLQ FOOTBALL Uganda on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and through their website.
The information we got also shows that many Campus student were victim of BLQ and they lost millions of money which was their tuition fee.
Is BLQ Football legit or a scam?
No, BLQ Football is not legit, it is a scam company that has closed after stealing over 50 Billion from Ugandans.
The online companies with trade names BLQ Football, E-Cairo, SBT Clicks, Ug Football, Twigamart, and Crown Football have been operating in the region for more than six months.
