UNRA Uganda and MTN Uganda launched a partnership to provide toll free payment for road users along Entebbe Expressway

The Uganda National Road Authority (UNRA) have today in partnership with MTN Uganda launched a partnership to provide toll free payment solution  along Kampala Entebbe Expressway for road users.

The Entebbe Expressway has a road toll fee system that requires payment to grant access for usage. A fee of different amounts is levied at the toll gates and access is granted to the different classes of motor vehicles and motor bikes.

The partnership will allow the road users along Kampala Entebbe Expressway to recharge their Upesi Card using MTN Mobile Money.

“We are privileged to inform our Road users that today, we are launching the first option in Partnership with MTN Uganda. More network enabled loading options will be introduced in the near future since other telecommunications companies have also been engaged.”- Allen C. Kagina, Executive Director UNRA Uganda.

According to UNRA Uganda Executive Director, more network enabled options will be introduced in the near future since other telecommunications companies have also been engaged.

“The partnership between MTN Mobile Money and UNRA will facilitate safe and convenient fee top-ups on the Upesi Card that allows motorist to access passage on the Entebbe Express Highway”,- Yego Richard, Managing Director MTN Mobile Money Uganda Limited.
